That’s it for Bangladesh! Now I’m off to India (actually I’ve been since the 5th of January, but there are so many pictures that this blog is slightly lagging behind).
Train travel in India involves much fun, confusion, noise, delays and people!

Relief-work on the arch of the gate leading to the Taj Mahal. If I remember correctly, it was created using wooden “stamps” to create the patterns.

Nepalese baby and his mom, wrapping up to face the cold winter night. As we weren’t very high at that point (only 2900m, which is low for Nepalese standards), it wasn’t actually that cold, just slightly below freezing.

Annapurna 1 (left, 8091m) and Annapurna South (right, 7219m) lit by a full moon in January 2013. The view was from my bedroom for the night in Ghorepani. What an amazing view! Going to sleep with an easy view of several 8000+ meter mountains is just great!

Long exposure of Fish Tail Mountain (Machhapuchhre), the holiest mountain in Nepal. It’s so holy in fact, that climbing it is illegal.
This picture was taken during full moon in January 2013. The fog that engulfed us for most of the day finally descended into the valley during the night, forming a beautiful white lake of clouds washing around the foothills of the 7000m giants.

The “Baby Taj”, properly known as the Tomb of I’timād-ud-Daulah, is the much smaller cousin of the Taj Mahal, but also much less crowded and has a lot more detailed carving and stone-work. There were only a handful visitors walking around, so it felt quite relaxing!
